Technical Description

The Madison Black Contrast Set is intended for track, fixed gear, and urban-use bicycles. The hubs are manufactured from solid 6061 aluminum round bars, not forged, through multiple CNC machining processes (non-forged), ensuring dimensional accuracy, structural strength, and long-term durability.

A distinctive feature of this model is the additional machining and bright polishing process on both sides of the flanges, which creates the visual contrast between the black anodized (not painted) hub body and the polished surfaces, while maintaining precise tolerances at the spoke support areas. Anodizing is a treatment that hinders surface wear and corrosion, preserving color and finish under intensive use without altering tolerances.

The set uses 6000ZZ low-friction shielded bearings on both the front and rear hubs. This bearing type features double metal shields, which reduce the ingress of dust and contaminants, retain internal lubrication, and provide stable and consistent rotation, with low maintenance requirements for track and urban use.
